Welcome to this think-tank where invited stakeholders from a range of backgrounds will discuss how to strengthen SLD engagement, research and care in the Nordic countries.
The organizers look forward to meeting you in beautiful Oslo in the fall of 2026. We hope to have an engaging and interactive meeting, driving real change in the SLD field in the Nordic countries. Welcome!
About us
The Nordic SLD Network was initiated in 2025 with the aim to establish a Nordic platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange on steatotic liver disease (SLD), with the goal to:
- strengthen research networks
- increase participation in clinical trials
- raise awareness among healthcare professionals and the general public
Members of the network come from different backgrounds in academia, clinical hepatology or related specialties, patient representatives, industry partners and more. The network has a steering committee represented by all Nordic countries and includes:
- Professor Hannes Hagström, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden (chair)
- Professor Ulf Risérus, Uppsala University, Sweden (Lead of clinical trials)
- Senior Associate Professor Mattias Ekstedt, Linköping University, Sweden (Lead of SLD Platform for observational research)
- Associate Professor Emilia Hagman, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden (Lead of outreach group)
- Associate Professor Patrik Nasr, Linköping University, Sweden (Co-lead of SLD Platform for observational research)
